Basic Powerful – Bringing the Whole Child into View
Basic Powerful offers insights and practical tools that can be applied directly in the classroom and are valuable for teachers, support staff, therapists, and parents. The program helps you to better understand yourself and others – a mutual process.
The strength lies in stimulating all areas of development, with special attention to a new area: the development of connection. This brings the whole child into view – or rather, the whole person. In this way, a solid foundation is created on which every child can develop to their fullest potential.
How is the program Basic Powerful in 8 Steps structured?
Development always happens in waves, is constantly in motion, and is always unique. The 8 steps help children grow in all areas of development, fostering balance, strength, and connection. How does it work, and what does it achieve?
Practice/evidence based.
Thyra Koeleman makes scientific knowledge practical and applicable. This program is the result of years of research and study. The exercises and insights have been extensively tested in practice and help both children and adults find balance, experience connection, and fully develop in their own way.

As a practical researcher in education and care, Thyra Koeleman studies, investigates, and connects scientific knowledge, translating it into actions that can be applied directly in daily practice.
As a speech therapist, she followed many separate studies, which she combined into the targeted and proven method “Ervaar het maar” (www.ervaarhetmaar.nl, 2000–present).
From these years of experience as founder, researcher, author, and trainer, the vision “The Whole Child in View” emerged. Returning to practice as a speech therapist in 2023 led to a new project: Basic Powerful in 8 Steps.
